The Wakulla Basin Mapping Initiative is a large-scale project aimed at mapping the Floridan Aquifer’s extensive underwater cave system in Wakulla County. Our team, in collaboration with the Woodville Karst Plain Project (WKPP), is utilizing next-generation underwater robots to create high-density 3D GIS maps of these critical conduits. This data provides vital insights into groundwater quality, pollution sources, and conservation efforts, ultimately helping to protect this essential primary water source for the region.

Alberto Lopez is the CEO of Sunfish. He is an engineer and entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in technology. He holds an MBA from the University of New Mexico and an MSE/BSE from the University of Michigan. He loves being in the water and fixing cars.
