Approximately 50 miles of the Florida Trail goes through the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. In support of the Florida Trail Association, St. Marks takes responsibility for maintaining this segment of the trail. So beginning in roughly late October and lasting for two or three months each year a volunteer crew comes together once a week to clear a segment of the trail.
This effort is currently lead by Travis Pollard, who is an Engineering Equipment Operator with the St. Marks Fire Crew. In the video below, Travis talks about maintaining the trail.
