Toy Exhibit Open at St. Marks Lighthouse
By Refuge Ranger Connie Clineman
Visitors to the St. Marks Refuge Lighthouse this December and January will have the unique opportunity to connect with the many children who lived in the Keepers Quarters over the years. Surrounded by photos of the Lighthouse children, entire families can take a step back in time to try their hand at games like “egg in the nest,” or to rock on a wooden rocking horse, or to experience the magic of watching a 3-D image appear through a stereoscope.
And, with the help of our Lighthouse Volunteer Interpreters, both children and adults will actually be able to craft a special St. Marks Holiday ornament for their own Christmas tree.
The St. Marks Refuge Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters will be open for tours this Holiday Season on the following dates and times:
Every Tuesday from 11am to 2pm
Friday, December 6th and Saturday, December 7th from 10am to 4pm
