Double Bridges
‘Double Bridges’ and ‘Double Dikes’ are landmarks familiar to those who frequent the refuge.
So named because two concrete bridges sit either side of mile marker 1 as you travel south on Lighthouse Road. Fresh water attracts those with a rod and reel and like to fish. The hardwoods are a favorite spot for birders, especially during migration.
Slow down and pull over on your way south to the Lighthouse. Chances are you will see something good.
